Shrine Zine Redux | Sophie Polyviou

£7.00
Sold Out

”Symbols of hope, faith, anguish, creativity. Part folk-art, part practical tool for dealing with a crisis. For remembrance of the past and protection from the future. Stranded in Mexico during the first wave of global lockdowns in the summer of 2020, I was drawn to these shrines and the uncertainty in life that they reflected, but also to their handmade & colourful nature.” S.P.

A follow up from Sophie’s larger work Madre Celestial, this redux version features unused images and cut-offs for a rough and ready outcome - a true reflection of the DIY attitude surrounding Mexican shrines.

You won’t find these anywhere else, they’re exclusive to the Death Ray.
