What’s the Death Ray?

In 2020 I self published my long-archived photographs and titled it Witness!.

The 100 copies I had printed sold out fast. I followed up with issue 2 and 3 of the project, compiling submissions from other photographers around the world whose work was gathering dust.

As I reached issue 4, the DEATH RAY was born. I wanted a space that would stock and sell work like what I was creating.

When?

Because photography belongs in print!

For little-known or entirely unknown photographers, self publishing is the path to getting their work into the world.

For you, owning a piece of that work is precious. By nature, these works are made in very short runs. You get them straight from the source and treasure that only a handful of others have the privilege of owning what you do.

Why?

I’m Dusty, and I run the DEATH RAY.

Back in 2016 I graduated with my BA in Photojournalism, and pawned my camera that same day. Relearning what I loved about photography took time, and discovering small press and self publishing was my final piece.

The longer I work on this project, the more important I believe it is. There’s so much great work out there that never would have found it’s way to me had I not gone looking for it - and passing that on to others has been a great joy.
