Get stocked!
There’s two ways to get stocked at the DEATH RAY. Please read the guide before getting in touch.
Requirements
Just the one. The DEATH RAY is a photography distro. Please, do not send in your poetry, art, mixed media work ‑ anything other than photography. There are lots of places to get your work stocked, but sadly this isn’t it.
We stock all kinds of photography work but you may have more luck if it’s street, documentary, or photojournalism based. Bonus points if your work sells for under £10!
You just want
a stockist
Ok, so you’ve already made a photography zine, magazine, or small press work, and you’d like to see it in the shop. Your work may already be stocked elsewhere. Maybe you’re selling it yourself, or with another distro. That’s great! The DEATH RAY wants it too.
Compile a set of screen grabs, photographs, or send along a PDF to deathraydistro@gmail.com. Include your cover price and a brief explanation of the work.
I’ll typically take between 3 to 10 copies, and work on a sale or return basis. Commission is at 30%. Postage to me is covered at your expense.
You need help
with everything
You’ve got an idea. Or maybe you’ve made something, but nobody will stock it, or you don’t know where to go, or how to sell it yourself, or how to get it seen.
You can put your energy into putting the project together, and leave the rest of the work down to the DEATH RAY. This includes:
• Taking photographs / scans of your work for product pages, that you’re free to use too.
• Advertising for you across Instagram.
• Sending your work to zine libraries across the UK.
• Handling all sales, packing, and posting, including issues like lost packages and returns.
We will discuss commission based on the project size, print run, and how much work will be involved. To get started, send your project to deathraydistro@gmail.com, making clear that you wish to be a DEATH RAY EXCLUSIVE.
